Subaru gets forgotten and tortured, we have heard this a million times. He escapes with his own power and becomes the sage by absorbing the other authorities from someone unexpected.

Subaru POV

Satella and I have been walking back from the tower, past the desert,  A small town near Flanders, that's where we took refuge.

A very hospitable place, it was a little hard to keep satella's face hidden though. We get ourselves a hotel from the little money i had managed to gather (steal) back at the capital.

"So...... what now?" Satella asked as I looked at her confused

"I don't know? figure out a way to hide your hair and eyes so you can live a normal life here?" I replied as Satella asked again.

"But what about you? what will you do now?" Satella asked as I shrugged.

"I don't know, honestly. I'll try to fight the witch cult i guess, I can probably make an impact now...... unlike before" Subaru said as Satella looked at him exasperated.

"You quite literally assisted in the defeat of 2 great Ma Beasts and 2 Archbishops BEFORE becoming  a sage! you made a big impact with just your intellect and sheer will Subaru!" Satella exclaimed as Subaru chuckles and lays down on the only bed in the room, they would have to share for the night it seemed.

"I guess I was, doesn't matter dwelling over the past now does it, haha. So, Satella what about you? what do you want to do now?" I asked as Satella thought a bit.

"I...... i want to live my life quietly surrounded by family, a family everyone else would envy!" Satella exclaimed excitedly.

"Haha, I wish you luck then...." Subaru gave a soft smile as he looked at her and said.

"Do you think I could beat Pandora?" Subaru suddenly asked a serious question.

"It depends, you could seal her or even try to take her authority! you have many options! I think you can win, because you certainly can't lose" Satella said as I chuckled.

"I guess...... for now, we need to relax. Long times are ahead aren't they?" Subaru said as he asked Satella.

Satella laid down onto the bed as well as she suddenly spoke up.

"Do you still feel love towards Emilia? or even Rem?" Satella asked as Subaru thought a bit.

"No..... I really don't honestly. My death loop which was caused by their ignorance was so long that I can't even feel any feelings i had prior. I died much more than millions, I lost my mind and regained it. It changes a person" He said as Satella asked another question which gave him a shock.

"Would you be able to feel love towards me?" Satella asked as Subaru immediately replied.

"I don't know about me, but you CERTAINLY shouldn't!" Subaru said as Satella replied.

"Be honest subaru.... you have flugel's memories and feelings.... you saved me and I know as much as you wish for me to move on from my obsession and never ending feelings for Flugel....no... you. I can't, we can make it work this time, can't we Subaru?" Satella asked a question that I didn't know how to answer.

"I can't. Im not ready to love Satella. And more so than me, you aren't ready. You need to move on, I am not the right person for you......" Subaru tried to argue as Satella got on top of him in the bed and pinned him down, subaru not wanting to hurt her can't fight back.

"Subaru. You shouldn't lie. Liars are bad people. You and I both know you love me, and I love you. Our love can be something more this time, we can have a family, make friends and live a quite lovely life, isn't that what WE wanted?" Satella told him as Subaru is conflicted.

Flugel's feelings inside of him are begging him to give in but he also knows that this would only do worse for himself and his feelings as he isn't flugel yet flugel is a PART of him.

"Satella..... I-" Subaru tried to speak as Satella's face descended.

"If you don't want this...... then dodge." Satella said as her face descended.

Back at the capital

"Alright! It's time we go and find my knight!" Emilia said with sheer excitement as she couldn't wait any longer to see what used to be her subaru.

"Mineself can't bear to watch you dimwitted half elf! Do you UNDERSTAND what Subaru went through!?" Priscilla sneered, uncharacteristic of her usual self centered demeanor.

"W-what do you mean?" Emilia asked as everyone else in the room except the emilia camp and felt looked down.

"You are dumber than a brick, I swear to minself.... Subaru was captured under the GUISE OF AN ARCH-BISHOP! He was Tortured for 6 months straight before he was let go! and the first thing he did after being let go was kill the guy who took his name! wait...... oh my....." Priscilla said as she realised.

"What? What happened with ya?" Anastasia asked, shaken from the current events.

"Julius..... Felix..... Please explain to mineself right this instant on why you lied about letting subaru go?" Priscilla sneered.

"What? they didn't let subaru free after their memories returned?" Emilia said not realising how dumb she sounded as everyone else caught on, exasperated they looked down, Julius and Felix completely overridden by guilt as they don't know what to do anymore.

"Half-Devil looking Half-wit. I swear, Subaru escaped and killed the archbihop of gluttony due to which our memories of him returned, Julius and Felix lied to save their skins." Priscilla said as the two mentioned looked down and didn't know what else to say. Crusch completely silent, not knowing what to do, the man who saved her was given such treatment and in her own disoriented the state, she didn't even see the wind of truth blowing.

"I am DONE, I AM COMPLETELY DONE WITH ALL OF YOU HALF-WITS. I am looking for Subaru myself. Od LAGUNA KNOWS WHAT YOU WILL DO TO HIM WHEN YOU MEET HIM" Priscilla exclaimed as her and Al left the room.

The Crusch and Anastasia camps were left dumbstruck as their knights had done such a dishonour.

Emilia and Felt's camps decided to join forces and with the help of Reinhard, knew where subaru was. In his home place called Flanders.......

"We will find you..... my knight" Emilia said as the lot made their move by dragon carriage.

Emilia, Rem, beatrice, felt, roswaal and reinhard.

Emilia felt hopeful and excited to reunite with her knight.

Rem was completely silent and shaken, she had caused so much pain to her hero.

Beatrice had failed her contractor.

Roswaal was frustrated due to everything he worked for disappearing right infront of him.

Felt just wanted to save her big bro and see him.

Reinhard wanted to anything he could to atone for the sins he had committed onto Subaru.

One thing they all had in common, they needed to see Subaru again.
