Zac thought a romantic trip with his girlfriend Karen would be just what they needed. But he didn't know she had another plan - one that involved collecting on his life insurance policy. When the plan goes wrong and Zac disappears into the wilderness, presumed dead, Karen returns home to spin the story of a tragic accident.

But Zac isn't dead. He's found - battered, bruised, and without a memory - by Fatima, a fiercely independent woman who stumbles across him during her morning run on a quiet trail near her home. With no ID, no family coming forward, and no one in the state recognizing him, Fatima makes a bold decision: he'll stay with her until he remembers who he is.

As days turn into weeks, a quiet love begins to grow between them. But when Zac's past comes crashing back, they'll both be forced to face the truth: was what they had real, or just borrowed time?
