Summary:
Marquis always knew he was different—sharper, wiser, carrying something heavy in his spirit. His mother saw it too. She favored him, but never explained why.

Then came the pie. A gourmet Strawberry masterpiece, sent on her birthday from someone buried in time.

One bite, and the past ain't just knocking—it's busting through the door. Long-buried truths. A forgotten legacy. And a power Marquis has spent his life trying to ignore.

He wanted a future. Now, he's tangled in something far older than him. Something deep and dark.
