Dragon Flame connection (Bloom x Valtor)

by A_Silly_Romantic

This is an AU where Alfea highschool is longer than just three years, they attend the school for a total of 5 years. This takes place at the end of season 3. After defeating Valtor he was sent back to the Omega dimension. Bloom couldn't bring herself to kill a person so she decided that it would be better if he went back to the Omega dimension instead. What will happen when their Dragon fire connection becomes so strong Bloom has to find answers. (this is from Bloom's perspective but occasionally there could be a short perspective swap)

Chapter 1

"Okay Bloom, you need to get up." I mutter to myself, forcing myself to a sitting position despite my body's protests.

I glanced down at my battered body, splotches of discolored skin were beginning to show, my dress was torn at the ends and my palm was bleeding from being scraped on an icicle. Pain began pulsating from the wound on my hand and I had to bite down on my lower lip in an attempt to silence my grunts of pain. I didn't want to be too loud in fear of something hearing me yell in pain.

What on earth am I doing, why did I even follow my gut and travel down here instead of what looked to be my freedom. I can't believe I was stupid enough to just follow feelings blindly in this dimension.

I stood up and looked at the way I fell down, there was no way I could climb up and right now I was too drained from my battle with Valtor to even think about using my enchantix wings to fly up.

Just as I was about to search for a new way out I saw him...

Cautiously I approached his icy prison, I don't know why I didn't turn back and just leave but I knew I just couldn't. I felt this strong force pulling me towards him, it was gravitating and familiar. I knew early that we could sense each other with our dragon flame connection but this felt different.

I was now face to face with a frozen Valtor, he had his usual smirk on his face and his eyes were narrowed. I couldn't help but stare into his gold menacing eyes. They were so full of determination but at the same time it showed how wicked he was. I shivered under his gaze, then I wondered if he was conscious and if he could see me here.

I kept my eyes fixated on him, trying to figure out if he was truly awake or not. I was so intensely focused on keeping eye contact that I hadn't even noticed my hand slowly rising to touch the icy prison.

All I knew is that before my hand touched the ice I could see the dragon fire flickering in his eyes. That was all I needed to know that he was awake, all I needed to know that standing so close to him was a bad mistake.

I glanced at my hand that's touching the icy cage, yet it didn't feel cold at all. It was warm and inviting. My hand was reached out to where his chest is, it felt like all that separated us was glass, glass that could easily shatter.

Cracks suddenly appeared on his prison and I began stumbling back, quietly cursing under my breath for being reckless and drawing near him. All of a sudden, all the ice shattered around him and went flying in all directions. I put my arms up to shield my face, but got knocked over.

I tried to quickly bring myself to my feet but I realized only now how painful my left ankle was. I had landed on it from earlier and I was now in too much pain to move. I could feel my ankle throbbing as I shuffled backwards. I tried to hold my ankle in place for it not to hurt, instead I was greeted with the stinging pain from the cuts on my hands.

After the pain had slightly subsided the realization finally sunk in. I had freed Valtor, it was all going to be my fault that he would come back only to torment everyone all over again. My throat felt dry and I felt like I was going to cry because of how stupid I had been. Valtor must have noticed that I was distressed because his smirk grew wider. He let out a light chuckle before clicking his tongue and looking at me.

"Is the little lost fairy scared and alone? Looks like you have no friends or water stars to save you now." He smirked at me and began to slowly close the distance between us.

"I will never be afraid, especially of you" I spat back at him and gritted my teeth, but it doesn't deter Valtor from moving forward.

"Why is a little fairy like you wandering around alone in the Omega Dimension?" He cocked his head to the side looking at me from an angle where he could see my poor condition that I tried so hard to hide from him.

I was silent, trying to think of a witty response to my enemy but nothing came from my mouth. The reality was I didn't know why I was here, I wasn't sure what was happening and I was scared. I was terrified.

"I....I don't know" I said shyly without looking to see what his reaction could be this time. To my dismay I could hear him slowly chuckling and it soon turned to full laughter. I looked up at him and shot him a dirty glare, what could have possibly been so funny to him.

"Are you serious Bloom? Are you playing stupid with me or are you just that clueless" Valtor's laughter echoed off the walls of the icy room with that handsome smirk in place.

I internally questioned my poor choice of words to describe Valtor's annoying face but quickly dismissed those thoughts because my anger was quickly taking over.

"Shut up Valtor, just enlighten me with what you presume to be my intentions as to being down here" I hissed back at him, I could feel my inner flame burning. How dare he speak to me with such a condescending tone, I wasn't some lost little girl. Hell, I'm 17 years old and I'll be 18 in a couple of months, I was not a child he could toy with.

Valtor just looked at me with amusement in dancing in his eyes.

"If that is what you wish darling. You are here because of our dragon flame connection, you sought me out and found what you were looking for. Your missing half to your own power. Our connection has seemed to grow ever since we battled with just our flames."

I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I loathed this man yet I had to have some sort of bond and connection with him.

"First of all never call me darling again, and how are you so sure about that Valtor?" I felt disgusted with the nickname he had called me. The word darling was a term of endearment, and there was nothing endearing about my dynamic with this sick wizard.

"Of course I'm sure of that, princess. It only surprises me that you couldn't figure that out sooner" Valtor gives a pretend pouty lip as he teased and mocked me.

Before I could even respond to him the underground caves began to shake. Everything had seemed to be falling apart and crashing down. I could constantly hear Valtor's voice echoing and repeating that I would be stuck with this bond with him forever. As long as one of us were alive we could always sense and find one another.

"No....no......NO This can't be happening!"

The room began to shake as everything fell to darkness. I felt two hands grip onto my shoulders and shake me, it was a light shake and the grip wasn't too hard. I opened my eyes to see a worried Flora.

Authors note: Thanks for reading my first chapter to Dragon Flame Connection. If you didn't know this is my first story that I've ever wrote and I'm sorry if I misspell words or my sentences don't make too much sense. I am letting you know ahead of time my updates will be fairly irregular. I'm very inconsistent and sometimes I might need to brainstorm what to do next. Hopefully you'll stick around to find out more about Bloom and Valtor's connection.

Update April 19, 2024: I decided to go back and revamp the chapters slowly, I starting writing this back when I was 14 and couldn't handle seeing some of my awful choice of words and spelling mistakes.
