Chapter Six

We were to meet Miranda and her date at the restaurant, which supposedly was one of the ritziest in town. I wore one of my shorter, cocktail dresses. It was purple, and hugged all of my curves.

“Eli! You look gorgeous, Samantha,” Eli smiled.

“You look nice, Elliott,” I replied.

We drove into town, and we held hands, which surprisingly didn’t feel awkward. We walked into the restaurant, and the waiter showed us to where Miranda was sitting with her date.

It was then, that I felt Eli tense up and become a bit angry when we saw Miranda’s date, Evan.

“Eli!” Miranda smiled, and then glared at me, “Sam.”

We sat down and ordered our food after watching Evan and Miranda give each other a tongue bath. Needless to say after watching them make out sloppily, I wasn’t hungry anymore.

Eli still hadn’t let go of my hand, gripping it tightly. He was beyond pissed, I could tell. His jaw was clenched, the edges of his ears red. He downed his drink, four times over. He’d ordered straight vodka, as did I. It was going to be needed by the end of the night, for sure.

“Evan and I were thinking of having a baby together,” Miranda smirked. Eli choked on his vodka and continued to down it. I glared at the rude bitch.

“That’s a terrible idea,” I said.

“Excuse me?” Miranda glared at me.

“Why in hell would you want to bring an innocent child into the world when you’re obviously acting like children yourselves?” I hissed.

“And you,” I pointed to Miranda, “Are f*cking crazy. Because given the choice between Eli and his brother, or Eli and anyone, really, I’d pick Eli.”

“Let’s go,” I said to Eli, and led him out of the restaurant.

We were both pretty intoxicated, but I was in a better state than Eli, so I drove us home. I followed Eli up the stairs to our room, and hugged him.

“Did you love her?”

“I thought I did, but I know now that I didn’t,” he said quietly. I knew we had to talk about something besides the whore, or Eli was going to be miserable.

“So, you’ve had a crush on me since forever, huh?” I wrapped my arms around his neck loosely and watched as his face turned a deep shade of red.

“Yeah,” he said quietly, slurring his words. He was beyond drunk.

“I LOVE Sam,” he slurred.

“Oh, you do?”

“Yeah, she’s so beautiful. She doesn’t like me though. So SHH! Don’t tell her!” he giggled.

“Eli, go to bed,” I laughed.

“Can you tell Sam goodnight for me? I always hug her goodnight. I want to kiss her though. She probably wouldn’t like that. She hates me!” he laughed.

“Eli, I do not hate you!” I laughed.

“Wait. Are you Sam?” he asks.

“Yes, Eli, go to bed,” I sigh, and tuck him in before lying beside him.
