Taken For The Alpha ✔️
18+ read at your discretion! My hands tremble by my sides. "Don't sleep with her..." He steps toward me, his eyes dark. "Why not?" "Whatever you were planning to do to her tonight, do it to me instead," I whisper.
Ayah has always been unremarkable in every way other than in the power she wields. Since she was little she has been able to heal even the most fatal of wounds. Because of this, her father has locked her away, keeping her powers safe from the outside world. That is, until a man appears below her balcony, giving her a glimpse into the freedom she could finally have. However, the moment she starts to trust him, he takes her captive, revealing his identity to be a powerful Alpha who needs her to heal his younger sister. But when the girl’s illness becomes impossible for Ayah to heal, she is dragged on a journey beside the Alpha to find an amplifier. On the way she learns their connection goes deeper than their heated attraction, to a soul bond neither can deny.

I hate this.
I hate this day, I hate these people and I especially hate my wife.
She lounges across the room, drinking from a crystal glass while she watches Ayah speak to two of her supposed male friends. Ayah appears uncomfortable, even as she makes attempts at fitting in with this strange group of people.
She looks too good. I can see the way the two males look at her, eyes glazed and jaws slack.
Her dark hair has been fashioned up, revealing the length of her neck. She doesn't realize it, but in my pack, that signals a readiness for mating, for a mark.
Even from the distance I watch from, I can tell that is making these males feral. Males I unfortunately recognize as having bedded my wife many times over.
And now they intend to do the same to Ayah.
She wears a dress that doesn't suit the snow drifting down outside. It's creamy and light, with billowy sleeves and a neckline that sweeps dangerously low. I'm sure it was Raven's choice...
Raven catches my gaze from across the room. She says something to an oblivious Ayah before she rises, approaching me.
I stiffen at her proximity as she shifts into place next to me.
"They look good don't they." Her voice is as thick as honey. She takes a long drink from her glass, satisfaction pulling at the edges of her mouth.
The dark brown-haired one, who I believe is Oliver, slides closer to Ayah. I can see by the way her mouth moves, that she is stuttering, uncertain of how to react with so much male attention on her.
"I know what you're doing," I growl.
Raven smirks. "And what is that, Alpha?"
"You're fucking with me. Fucking with Ayah." This is better than sex for her. I'm sure of it.
She's deriving a sick kind of pleasure from watching me watch Ayah. She wants me to react, to prove I'm jealous. Either she wants an excuse to kill Ayah, or she wants to prove me wrong.
"I'm doing you a favor in finding this girl a husband," she exclaims, mock offense in her tone. "Consider it an apology for trying to kill her."
I don't buy it, and she knows I don't.
"You're jealous."
She pivots suddenly, unleashing just a hint of the Raven I know is buried beneath her calm exterior.
"I wouldn't speak about jealousy to me, Zaon," she seethes. "I see the way you look at her."
"And how is that?" I challenge.
She sidles closer, resting her hand on my chest. I resist the urge to brush her offer, wanting to see how she is viewing me. I'm sure it's not that different from how I see myself.
"It's more than possession. It's more than your awe of her powers," she murmurs. "You're attracted to her."
I don't feel inclined to deny that. It would be a lie that she can easily flesh out.
"So?" I whisper.
I glance toward Ayah. She's laughing, radiant and warm. She's more than just beautiful. Her energy is magnetic, captivating. I want every twisted part of her that might possibly exist.
"That attraction runs deep. You're enamored." She jabs her finger into my chest, like she's half tempted to carve my heart out and test its feelings for Ayah.
My jaw sets into a rigid line. Raven has no right to question how I feel about Ayah, when even I hardly know. I won't allow myself to think about it, to consider the rare connection that feels tangible between us.
If I dare answer to that call, I'm afraid of what I'll find...
"Enamored? Hardly," I scoff. "When have you ever known me to desire someone for more than just sex?"
I don't allow myself to delve into anything more. Raven has demolished any attempt of mine to find love.
"You hoped you could love me once," she reminds me with a curved brow.
"That was until I learnt your true nature," I say bitterly. "I will not be making that mistake again."
Raven was open and seductive when I first met her. She wrapped me around her finger, and it took an unreasonable amount of time for me to snap out of her spell.
She nods back at Ayah. "So it's not driving you mad seeing her being attended to by these gorgeous men?"
They lean so close to her, devouring every word she says. While they are evidently attracted to her, I doubt marriage is what is on their mind.
"I couldn't care less about Ayah. She is a means to an end, and I will be rid of her soon enough," I mutter. "So you can stop acting like this now."
"Hmm, sure." Raven laughs knowingly. "You know, both these men are excellent in bed. You can rest assured she will be greatly serviced by either of them."
I swallow, anger unspooling deep within me. I keep it there, however, banishing any imagery of these two men ravishing Ayah.
"You try to assert that I desire Ayah, and yet you openly fuck hordes of men and women at your leisure, wife," I remind her drily.
She leans closer. "You know what I'm like when I'm not sated, husband."
I've had enough of her taunts. She's trying to get a rise out of me, and if I stand next to her for a moment longer, she's going to get her wish.
I need these two men out of this house, and quick.
Stalking over to where the three sit, their voices meet my ears before they realize my proximity.
"I also enjoy reading," Oliver tells an enraptured looking Ayah. "I have a personal collection at home that I would love to introduce you to."
He's trying to bait her into being alone with him in his own home. I imagine his personal collection is nothing more than a handful of non-fiction novels that Ayah couldn't care less about.
She smiles regardless. "I would love—"
Her words die off as I seat myself in a chair opposite to the three. I kick my legs out in front of me, crossing them at the ankles. Smartly, Alten looks terrified, while Oliver stiffens under my scrutiny.
A brittle silence ensues as the pair of males inspect me.
I shift my attention to Oliver, the green-eyed man trying to avoid my gaze. "Have any of the romance books you've read involve orgies, Ayah?"
Her eyes widen, while Oliver looks inclined to throw up at his feet.
"Zaon...why would you ask me that?" She questions, clearly flustered.
"Answer." I'm not relenting. I have a point to prove.
"No," she grumbles. Her entire face is flushed pink, and her breathing becomes unsteady.
"Well Oliver has a proclivity to enjoy more than one woman at once," I explain. "He seduces at least four of them nightly, fucking each of them in turn."
Raven has told me as much, and by the way Oliver appears to be choking on his own breath, I'm right. Such a lifestyle doesn't suit Ayah. At least not at this point of her life.
And not if I have anything to do with it...
"Zaon..." Ayah sputters, but she's not entirely sure what to say. She isn't looking at Oliver, who makes no effort to defend himself.
"I'm not sure about you, Ayah, but I don't think your husband taking many women to your marital bed, along with you, is to your taste," I exclaim musingly.
That familiar flame of indignation settles in the stern press of her brows. She looks ready to rip my head from my body, if she could.
I wouldn't blame her. I'm an asshole.
"You have no idea what is to my taste." Her face burns a violent shade of crimson.
I pin her with a challenging stare. "Don't I?"
She deflates back in her seat, remembering our moments together. While I'm assuming her taste in being with multiple partners, I do know exactly where she likes my tongue to be as she chases her climax.
Speaking of... "And Alten, is the rumor true that you never go down on a woman?"
He pales, wincing. If he's so ashamed of his preference, then why have it at all?
"I just prefer not to," he admits sheepishly, glancing at Ayah. "It's the taste."
Ayah nods slowly, trying to understand his perspective, although I can tell she's struggling. It might not be a deal breaker for her when she's so desperate to find a husband, but I doubt she's pleased about it.
"Everyone has things they enjoy and things they don't," she says tersely.
"We both know you enjoy a man between your legs, Ayah," I drawl, looking at Alten. "She tastes divine by the way. It's a shame you don't indulge, for I like nothing better."
Both him and Oliver exchange surprised glances. I can sense Raven bristling behind me, but it's not as if she doesn't already know.
Ayah stands suddenly, her cheeks a flaming shade of red.
"I think I would like to go on a walk," she snaps decidedly.
I raise my brows. "It's snowing outside."
Sheets of white blur the distant view. It's freezing out there, and I'm not certain Ayah has acclimatized to this pack yet.
"Even better."
I rise with my chair with a sigh. "Fine, let's go—"
Her scowl melts into a saccharine smile as she pivots to face Oliver.
"I would love to hear more about this book collection, and your recent travels. I'm dying to travel myself." She blinks coyly at him. There's no need for her to attempt to seduce him. It wouldn't take much to gain Oliver's favor.
He looks at me expectantly. "Is that okay, Alpha?"
"Of course it's okay, Oliver. You're courting the girl," Raven says. I hadn't noticed her walk over.
Oliver stands, taking Ayah's hand. I watch silently as he leads her away, the two not resuming talking until they are out of earshot.
I glance at Alten, who has sunk deep into the chair.
"Get the fuck out of my house," I growl. "Pursue Ayah again and I'll rip your throat out."
He scrambles up, rushing off without another glance at Raven or I.
"Rude," she snarls, raising a brow. "That was quite the show."
I roll my shoulders, trying to ease off my frustrations. Ayah's husband isn't going to be either of those degenerates. He'll be someone I can be certain will care for her, protect her.
"Ayah won't be marrying either of them." I shoot her a warning look. "I need someone controlled by me, not by you."
"Time is ticking," she warns. "I think Alpha Kai would take a particular liking to her. And not just for her powers."
She knows exactly what to say to dig under my skin. The worst part is, she's completely right.
I stalk forward, standing over her, lowering my mouth to her ear.
"A day will come, Raven, where I no longer require your father's allegiance." I feel her stiffen. "If I were you, I would greatly fear that day."
